OFFER PLAN
I highly recommend doing as many low cost offers as you can when you initially sign up on a trading site. The following information will give you some guidance that should be helpful in your preparation.
Preparing an Offer Plan/Strategy
Make a list of all the offers that interest you, especially the low cost ones. Write down the credit value and cost for each one. Plan which offers you want to do, and make sure they add up to the proper amount of credit that you need. It's usually a good idea to have an extra offer or two in mind in case you run into problems and don't want one of your previous choices. Also, you might want to note which offers credit quickly -- i.e. instantly, vs. weeks.
CREDIT CONVERSIONS
1 credit = 1.0 1/5 credit = .20
3/4 credit = .75 1/6 credit = .167
1/2 credit = .50 1/8 credit = .125
1/3 credit = .33 1/100 credit = .01
1/4 credit = .25
Evaluate
Now you should know what all the offers are going to cost you, and it should be less than you are getting paid to do the site. (Unless you're buying something expensive that you wanted to buy anyway.)
If your expected cash outlay is going to be too high for that site, you can always back out of any trade. You just won't get paid. This is not a problem, don't worry about it, as all of us have had to do this at one time or another -- because we couldn't find enough offers, or offers would not credit, or because the site requires more credits than we thought.
Execute your Offers
Start by doing the offer with the highest credit value first. This makes it easier to do a different offer in case there is a problem.
Disregard any guidance that says you cannot use a debit card, as these are usually fine in the trading world, as long as your card has a Visa or MC logo. Do not use a prepaid card or a gift card.
There are SOME debit cards out there that do NOT have the charge card logo -- so if it says "No Debit Cards," -- the site is probably trying to block those. Many use their bank debit card all the time, and have never seen any problems from doing this. But the fastest way to credit is with a regular credit card, not tied to your bank account at all.
You do NOT want to waste offers, if you can avoid it. So if something will not credit, do not keep doing more and more offers on the same site, just so you can go green! Move on to some easier sites, and just put the difficult site on the back burner for awhile! Any good, experienced trader/mentor will not encourage you to do another for at least a week, unless it's a FREE offer, and/or the site does not allow for MCR's at present.
Problems
If you run into any problems, please let me know right away. If something seems wrong, seems too hard, seems too expensive -- contact me. At times, I may know something about the offers that you don't know yet.
Likewise, if your credit card keeps getting declined, after you have done several offers, your bank/credit card company might have high security in place, for your protection, and you just need to verify that it is in fact YOU making numerous charges, and any holds will be lifted once you contact them.
You can also refer to the "Reference" section [currently under construction -- but, you will find some links there to help you with filing MCR's, (Manual Credit requests), when an offer doesn't credit.]
The offer trading world can sometimes be somewhat frustrating to navigate for the first month or so. And there are lots of ways you can get off the path and wind up with problems.
So please feel free to rely on me, as your mentor, and ask all the questions you want. Asking a question does not mean you're dumb or slow. It just means that you haven't run up against that particular situation yet. And, there will be quite a few of these situations, as there is a definite learning curve.
I hope this gives you a little more guidance, and will make the whole process of doing offers somewhat easier.
And you DO want to clear cookies before you try to do the company's offer on an offer site. Otherwise, your offer might just be credited to their main website instead of the trading site. As long as you take those simple precautions, this will work fine.
The steps for doing an offer are in the Going Green Easily guide in the next step. Please read through this section first, before completing any offers!
